It can be very tough to be a woman in modern India. Old ideas and petty thinking often subject women to horrendous conditions. That is why the Altaghat Project adds a valuable resource to agencies and NGO's concerned with domestic violence and the social abuse of women in India. Conditions for India's wildlife and remaining forests are also of grave concern. The Altaghat Trustees know that the effort to protect Indian women and the need to protect endangered wildlife and dwindling forests requires long term sustainability. The idea of an eco-tourism resort run by a women's shelter was born from these efforts.
The Altaghat Project requires your support. We can accept all sorts of donations, but often shipping, handling and customs duties end up costing more than if we make a cash purchase. If the donation you have in mind is something other than cash, please contact us to discuss the possibilities. Things like tools, solar and wind energy components, frequent flyer points, architectural services and even labour, to name a few ideas, can be put to use at the right times.
